Has any pulled up the P0732 Code? My engine light turned on because of this. It says something about not shifting into 2nd gear.

did you get stuck in mud or snow lately??, those and other reasons could cause the ECU to think that there is something wrong....., anyways, reset the ECU codes and see if it pops up again (always start with the easy things first), and take it easy on the car for a bit untill you are sure what is the problem

Note: the ECU keeps a fault code in it's memory for 50 startups after the fault has last happened

No I didnt get stuck in the mud or snow. I did drive through some mud but that was in the begining of the month but it was very little. I didn't notice last night when I got home from a 15 minute drive that when i put the car in park it was idling pretty high which is unusual.I;ll reset the code and take it from there

P0732 Code is an automatic transmission code.

See the "sticky" post, its one of the ones at the top of the J30 forum.

Its generally a rough shifting code. 95-j30tt is correct getting stuck in mud or snow can set it off.

Alright this stupid code popped again the other day. This time it brought a friend P0733. Don't really know why it does this or how to get rid of it other then reseting the codes. transmission seems to work fine. I have about 193,000 miles in the car. Anybody have any clue why this stupid code showed up again?

Maybe the rear tires spun in a lot of rain, did you notice the ABS come on?......I'm guessing.

Over the weekend my check engine light came on. My mechanic ran the code on it today since it was due for an oil change and tire rotation anyway. Code came up as P0733 also, which is as you know a transmission code. According to him it is most likely due to a faulty throttle position sensor in the J. He said its a known problem and in the absence of the transmission acting up this is the most likely cause. He did not think it would affect the cars performance or the transmission in a negative way.

I've never read of this being a common problem on this board. Anyone else have any thoughts or experience with this?
