p0705 error 95 ifiniti g20

I own a 95 Infiniti g20 2.0 L standard transmission. I have a check engine code p0705 most post say its trans range sensor other posts say its a safty neutral or a inhibitor swith. The car does start in gear. so where do i start to look and what am i looking for? I was told at the clutch pedal or on top of the transmission. Most post only refer to automatics and other say the clutch swith is different than the trans range sensor (Inhibitor) switch. Any help would be appreciated
