Hi
Im looking at getting my front catalytic convertor (bank 2, front radiator side) on my 2005 Nissan Maxima. It seems a lot of people recommend Eastern Cat's. Ive read the emissions sticker under the hood and it says the car meets Federal EPA guideline and California emissions standards. Ive also read it seems a lot of newer cars are like this.
I understand CA has more stringent output guidelines from the cat but I dont live in CA or the car has never been there. Im wondering if I can change out the cat with a regular Easter convertor - first question is if it will fit and second is the car (ECU/O2) programmed to look for a different output from the catalytic convertor?
