My stock G is throwing the P0430 code (twice, per the guy with the code reader at AutoZone) and I've done some research on these forums and elsewhere, and I don't seem to have any issues that would indicate it's an actual engine issue, so I came to the self diagnosis that it's a bad 02 sensor.

My question is this: the part is like 60 bucks, is this something I can replace myself? I have the service manual, and I found the correct diagram. Will I be able to access the sensor and replace it myself without any elaborate tools, or without screwing up my exhaust/electrical system.

Thanks

The O2 Sensor is easy to replace.
It could be the Catalytic Converter, instead of the O2 Sensor.

Is it bolted on to the exhaust pipe or something?

I'm aware it could be the cat, i'm hoping it's not, since those involve welding (i assume) to replace, and also are expensive enough that people saw them off the bottom of other people's SUVs

The O2's are bolted to the exhaust and they can be quite tough to break free. BUT, you should be able to replace them yourself to save some cash.

The IDX should show what pages of the EC guide the O2 sensors are referenced on.

Mine throws the same code and the light goes off after a couple weeks... It's been on and off for a few months :gotme
Odd enough... It goes on many times after a car Wash where the under carriage gets blasted with high pressure water!! I've looked under the car and one of the O2 sensors is not attached to the exhaust/catalytic converter with the "clip" so it sometimes just hangs there while still connected!! I'm thinking water gets in it when at the car wash :gotme
