The detection logic for a PO420/PO430 will set when the ECM detects a higher the .75% cycling rate that the federal government requires. Basically that means that if the down stream O2 sensors detects an excessive switching from lean to rich, meaning your catalysts are not retaining the oxygen required to complete the chemical reaction to sufficently remove the toxins from your exhaust stream.
Anti foulers significantly diminish the sampling rate of the downstream O2 sensors. While they work your car will be considered a gross polluter and in most states is grounds to fail an annual safety inspect or emissions test (visible removal of a required emission device). Since you have already violated federal laws why not add anti foulers.
I will not participate in another discussion about the pros and cons of defeating emissions components. I'm just giving Vivik some info.
