the way we know is the printout that comes out of consultII has the part number on it. there are about 6 to 8 different partnumbers for that year depnding on options and emission certification. I believe fedral emissions law says 8/80 for ecm and cat. your code is for cat bank 1 if your under 80K miles it would be covered by nissan.

Thanks nistech sorry to bug you but i called them yesterday and they said its not covered. My car has 60k miles it does have a salvage title if that matters. If still covered is there a way i can get a copy from the internet that shows the warranty for it up to 80k miles? Please help i have to do my smog check by aug. and im affraid of it not passing.I can clear the code and it wont come back for like a month to two and sometimes it goes off by itself.

Ahh the salvage title voids all warranties. You are responsable for the repairs now. Call them and ask them how much they would charge you to check the ECM part number against the ones listed in NTB 00-071. And how much it will cost to have it reprogramed to the current part number if it is not already the current one.

hey nistech thanks for all the points and help. remeber i had a problem with my 1995 240sx being stuck in one gear and overdrive light not turning on at all.well i should of done this first but never though it will be missing. the at control unit fuse was disconnected it was missing the fuse. i think pepe boys might of taken it out or felt off by itself, but i connected the extra fuse i had and walla everything is back to normal car runs great even thouhg i put it a 98 tranny on it since my bro said its the tranny o well i only spend 400 dollars for the tranny 200 and for the labor another 200 hundreds.

Thanks Again

p.s im sellling the 1995 auto nissan 240sx got 106k miles clean car from outside to inside so if you know anyone in the los angeles area let them know :D
