I am still hoping to hear some information on my recent post for the mounting location of the passenger side engine ground cable and bolt size. In the meantime, I was trying to troubleshoot a P0400 error code for the EGR valve that kept popping up over the last 2 weeks.

I removed the EGR sensor and sprayed some Deep Creep in there and cleaned off the end of the sensor with steel wool. I also tried an induction cleaning through the brake booster line and lightly tapped the EGR line that goes to the exhaust side. All the while, I did not think to check the rubber tube that goes in between the "supplemental EGR" mounted at the top rear of the engine. Not sure what the emissions part is called, but the 1 1/2" to 2" long rubber tube had completely disintegrated and there was a gapping hole. when I removed the tube, it literally broke apart in my hand. I found a suitable replacement tube for a temporary repair until I can contact the dealer parts dept. Had to clear the CEL code a couple of times after that, but so far, the code hasn't returned.

If any of you are experiencing the P0400 code that won't go away despite cleaning everything in sight, you might want to check this and the rest of the EGR rubber hoses for splits, cracks or just plain deterioration like mine.

Hope this helps someone who was as frustrated as me. Now, can someone help me on the passenger side engine ground cable????

Ted
