P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor. Is there an upper n lower? Which needed?

I found I have code P0335P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit MalfunctionThis is for a 2001 Vq35De motor for a pathfinder qx4

My car has recently developed a problem where it doesnt like to start, and cranks and cranks and cranks until it finally limps over with some help from the gas pedal. I hooked up a scanner and got that code.

Would that code cause that problem? The car has also died on my while taking slow turns and randomly while coasting to a stop, and sometimes a loss of power when on the accelerator.

I am unsure if there is a top and bottom crankshaft position sensor on this motor though, and cannot locate a part number at all for the lower one.

I looked up the diagnostic in the FSM, and it only mentions the lower crankshaft sensor attached to the oil pan.
