This is for a 2001 Qx4

I figured out how to read my stupid new scanner (much more complicated than my last, thanks for running it over dad) and recently my car has been idling low, stalling while taking low speed turns and sometimes while on the highway you feel a loss of power and the car takes unreasonably long to start sometimes.

I found I have code P0335P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction

Im curious if this sensor can cause those symtpoms.

Sorry for making another thread I know I just made one, but Id like to get all these parts orderred from pinnacle nissan soon and have them shipped to me.

Thanks guys

Well I guess I should go ahead and replace the sensor, but I am UNSURE of which to replace, when throwing a p0335 code, is it always the BOTTOM crankshaft sensor that needs replacing?

I have found misleading info that there may also be a UPPER crankshaft position sensor

I just have this P0335 code and want it GONE, unless someone chimes in here

I also believe i have a faulty starter, and have orderred one online, could that possibly cause such a problem? After I erased the 0335 crankshaft code ts has not come back but it says I have a pending code.....

Dont think the start would cause my engine to stall and fail though, while the ecm not knowing where the crankshaft was would probably cause that... no?

Very difficult to help when profile does not contain car model, car model year, nor is it mentioned in posts.

Seldom ever inspect my driveway for OBD II readers ever, if that helps mend the fences with dad. Might want to consider cutting off the hand of whoever left it there.

If you clear the code and it reappears it may indicate a fault in the CKP sensor which is just a Hall Effect Sensor. If you check the power supply and ground that I would wager a guess that the sensor has failed.

A P0355 will indeed cause a stalling/extended crank if the ECM does not detect the appropriate CKP sensor input.

Well I dont really understand how to check power supply and ground on a sensor and I cant find anything online basic enough for someone who doesnt know at all.

Since the error does keep coming back after a few days of driving. Would it be safe to say that sensor is pooched? I have been unable to find a part number for that crank sensor, if anyone could help me with that so I could just order it Id appreciate it.

This problem really is making my life hell lol

If the engine does not crank when you turn the key, It will trip a crank pos sensor code. If you need a starter then that is possibly why you always have that code. When you turn the key ti sends a ctart signal to the ecm, then the ecm is looking for a crank signal, when the engine fails to cracnk from a bad starter, it puts a code in ecm. fix the starter first and then diag the crank sensor problem.

Well I havent figured out how to see whats wrong, either my starter, the ignition switch, some kinda wiring?

Im really stumped on how to figure out what is causing that problem

I picked up a used crank position sensor, it was free so might as well put it on

if the engine cranks then you probably dont have a starter problem. replace crank sensor and recheck for codes
