I'm driving my 98 infiniti Q45 home and notice my service engine light turn on...., shortly after it starts to flash.. so I drove to AutoZone, they check it out and came with two codes,
P0301>>Cyldr 1 misfire and P0335. :ohno: HEEEEEEELP!!!!

P0335 is a crank position sensor code. The flashing MIL indicates a catalyst damaging misfire. Don't drive it. Switch the coil from cylinder 1 to cylinder 2. If the code follows the coil, bad coil. If not, check the spark plug and injector for cylinder 1. Also, check the FSM for crank sensor testing. Make sure the connector is clean and tight. Let us know what you find...

Lokim, I'll let you know what I come up with in the comong weeks..... It may take me some time. I'm not able to do any work on the Q this weekend, due to the fact that I will be out going out of town. Thank you for your help and I will keep you posted!

Lokim, greetings... I finally got the coils switched... On sunday switched ignittion coil #1 with #3 since the were on the same side. Then next day I took the the Q to Autozone and had them read the codes. Good news, the two codes went away(Thank you!) however two newer codes appeared, P1105 and P0330. They told me the codes were a Knock sensor and a Map sensor. what do you recommend I should do?

The P1105 code is for the MAP/BARO switch, not the MAP sensor (Q45's are MAF system cars.) What this code means is that either the barometric pressure switch valve is malfunctioning, the intake plenum mounted baro sensor is malfunctioning, or the intake air duct baro sensor is malfunctioning. I would chek the wiring and connectors first, as I suspect when you swapped coils you likely unplugged one of the three items and either forgot to plug it back in or didn't get the connector fully seated.

The P0330 is indeed a KS code. Check your FSM and find the test procedure and follow it. I will tell you that these are prone to failure on our beloved Q's, and are a PITA to replace. The good news is that code does not cause a CEL on its own IIRC.

KS can be tested through the harness. If harness functions, KS = ~550K Ohms.

Lokim,
Howdy, its been a minute...., but after a couple of weeks and a few days...., I finally got rid of those codes. I ended up replacing the knock senor harness, and those codes are gone. However, new code has appeared>P1440. I did very little research and found out it the EVAP.
Do you have advice for me?

P1440 is an EVAP system leak. Start by making sure your gas cap is on tight (at least three clicks past the stop.) If it is on good and tight, just get a new OEM gas cap and see if that works. I can't count how many times I've seen cars of all makes throw evap leak codes due to loose, missing, or bad gas caps!

Lokim, I checked gas cap and it appears to be good. Knowing I also had some many other problems with the car I wanted a thorough inpsect..... so I took it to the Infiniti dealer.... smh. This is what they told what was wrong with my car:

$120.00 DIAGNOSTIC /TESTING
>
> FOUND NO TROUBLE AT THIS TIME WITH NOT STARTING OR LONG CRANKING TIME
>
> $2260.00 CODES FOR EGR SYSTEM/EVAPORATIVE EMISS SYSTEM/ EGR TEMP
> SENSORS/ THROTTLE SENSORS
>
> $920.00 COOLANT LEAKS AT COOLANT CAP/UPPER RADIATOR HOSE
> OUTLET/THERMOSTAT AND HOUSING NEED TO REPAIR OBVIOUS LEAKS AND RETEST
> COOLING SYSTEM
>
> $310.00 COOLING FAN BLADES SHOWING SIGNS OF STRESS CRACKS
>
> $395.00 BELTS SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR
>
> $150.00 ENGINE OIL LEAKS WILL REQUIRE DEGREASE AND DYE TEST TO
> EVALUATE

Almost had a GD heart attack when I read the email they send me. I haven't responded as yet.....

I think you can probably do most of that stuff yourself for WAY less. The radiator hose, thermostat, cooling fan, and belts you can all do yourself. The degrease (a.k.a. steam cleaning) can be done for around $70-$100 at any good detail shop. You can then inspect it yourself in a week or so and see where the oil leaks are. As for the Evap system, just take it to a local shop and have them smoke check the system and tell you where the leak is.
