P0101 code, replaced maf filter and sensor, will light go off?

My boyfriend's dad and I just replaced the Mass air flow filter and sensor today, I don't want to spend 100$ to have someone reset the code, anyone know if it should go off on its own after a certain mileage or something? Thanks, jmdahler

Unplug the negative terminal and replug it in and drive 50 miles .
