Pulled this code yesterday from our 2018 QX60. The code reader says Mass or Volume Air Flow A Circuit Range/Performance. I cleaned MAF sensor but so far the MIL is still on. New MAF sensor? Any thoughts or experience will be appreciated. Thanks.

If the code is by itself and there are no other symptoms, there's an ECM reprogram for it. See this bulletin:

Thanks for the reply. Seems to be the only code and the vehicle runs and idles fine. I did take the MAF sensor out and cleaned it. I also went ahead and changed the air filter. I cleared the code and so far the MIL has not returned. I told my wife to let me know if it comes back on. I guess if I need to reprogram the ecm the dealer will get involved. I have no clue.

Unless you have high miles, the repro should be covered under the 5/60 drivetrain warranty. P0101 isn't a "hard code" related to a component failure, and although the description says "MAF performance", the MAF itself is rarely responsible. The code simply means something is "off" in the induction readings but the ECM can't figure out what. In this case, the "what" is an induction map in the ECM firmware that's too tight and is causing the ECM to throw a code when it shouldn't. Probably half the vehicles in the Nissan/Infiniti line have similar bulletins. On an '18 your drivetrain warranty will likely expire sometime next year, so if you're not already over on mileage, I'd recommend getting it taken care of while you're still covered.

The vehicle has a little over 68K on it now. Sounds like something Nissan/Infinite should be taking care of as it can hardly be the owners fault and it's not a a wear and tear item. Good info and I appreciate the heads up on it.

Update on this issue. I think the MIL and one other light that came are related to a weak battery. The vehicle had to be jumped two nights ago to get it home. I checked the volts with a multimeter and it was measuring 12.4. The CCA's were down around 200 according to the shop. We replaced the battery and so far no more MIL.
