Pick up a brand new 2012 Nissan Rogue SL on Nov 27. On Dec 3rd, car was shaking back and forth in front of a red light, engine lights went on and car could not move. Had to restart the car. everything seem normal afterward except car seems to be louder?. Voice guidance of GPS was also not working properly. Went to dealership, they told the controlling unit for GPS is replaced, but cannot find out why the shaking or why engine light went on. only advice given is to keep driving and call back immediately if this happen again.

car had under 120km on it when this happened. :tisk:

this is the code P0011 from service report
a quick google
http://nissanhelp.com/diy/obd_codes/p0011_nissan.html
i have no idea what it means.

what can I do? This is really frustrating. and I am worried about safety of car.

I will check with another dealer today/tomorrow

Hi there, I'm sad to hear about your troubles with your new Rogue but this should be an easy fix for your service department under warranty.

As your link states, P0011 code is very clearly defined with five possible cuases that your service shop should be able to identify with no trouble. Possible causes relating to the cam and valve timing and engine control unit:

- Harness or connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve may be faulty
- Crankshaft position sensor (POS) may be faulty
- Camshaft position sensor

I'm not sure why your service dept. did not keep the vehicle until it was repaired considering there was a code clearly indicating the nature of the problem. This is a serious problem with your engine and I would NOT advise driving your vehicle until this issue is corrected. I would get the vehicle back to a Nissan service center for warranty work as soon as possible.

Thank you for reply. yes, it is under warranty no doubt or I will burn the stealership down.

A brand new car should not be like this. I have serious concern with quality and reliability of nissan. Feel like being ripped off. it is a worse experience than buying a used car.

Owned a 10+year toyota before this. repair and maintenance cost was rising so decided to try nissan. bad decision for me. may try honda next or korean cars...

Gosh, I feel your pain. This is worse than the first dent.

Can't blame you for the bad taste in your mouth, but don't let it ruin your whole look into the NIssan Brand. There are always defects in all products at some point.

My dealership offers a customer a week to return a new vehicle in exchange for another new vehicle minus the difference and new tags. Too bad they didn't have that benefit in your area. Such as:

7 DAY EXCHANGE PROGRAM- If you find you’re not satisfied with your new or used vehicle within 7 days or 1,000 miles of taking delivery (whichever comes first), bring it back and we’ll exchange it. Just take the vehicle back to your original Hall dealership and exchange it for another vehicle of equal or greater value. All you will pay is the applicable taxes, title, processing fee, and the difference in price. Ask your Hall sales consultant for more details.

Anyways, Hope it works out. :)

Sorry to hear about your Rogue problems ccyk. I hope the dealership can figure out what is going on w/your car. I agree w/Casderfun, there are problems w/every kind of vehicle out there. There aren't 100% zero problem Toyotas, Hondas etc... I hope that you won't totally trash all of Nissan.
