A little over a month ago, I noticed the telltale power steering squeal that meant I needed fluid (I had become so used to it from my ford it took me a little while to register, though...). I filled it up, surprised to find it was nearly bone dry...but then it had been a long time since the last fillup...

Then about three weeks to a month later (last weekend), she started squealing again, and again, I found the fluid reservoir completely empty.

This can't be normal.Any advice on locating a power steering system leak? I don't feel like crawling around all day just to determine it's a leak I can't see with the naked eye. Were there any recalls or TSBs regarding the power steering system on my HJ30-D?

EDIT:Also, I need to replace my TPS, as it appears that IT is the cause of my transmission misbehavior (ahh, the thought of my car performing well again!!).Is this something that must be re-tuned by Nissan or a nissan tech after installation? I have the Chilton guide, but have not had time to research this install--I assume it's fairly simple, though...am I correct?Man, I really am starting to wish I had an FSM...

I would say to check where the PS hose connects to the steering rack (between the motor and the firewall). From time to time I find that the clamp will become loose and just needs to be tightened.

If you are interested in a `94 FSM ( I know you have a `93) follow the instructuions in this thread.
