Any ideas or solution?

I had the same problem with a 1986 Camry. Sometimes the D would light up, sometimes not. When the R would go out on the dash, the actual reverse lights wouldn't turn on at the back of the car, but I could still move in reverse normally.
Sometimes I could get the lights to turn on or off by jiggling the gear shift. Replacing the neutral safety switch fixed it. No idea if the Rogue is configured and equipped similarly.

There is a position lamp that lights up the shifter position plate, sounds like a loose connection to the lamp, or the lamp itself?
