Threw a P 0160 code today. Shop manual says right rear O2 sensor. Where's the best/cheapest place to get one from? I'll replace it myself.

http://www.sparkplugs .com (call to verify as website often lists wrong part number) or http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

Best done in pairs so the duty cycle matches the other one.

When you say pairs are we talking both front and rear right, or both rear sensors?

Pairs in same position left and right for operational bank symmetry.

The FSM says 'Under normal conditions the rear heated oxygen sensor is not used for engine control operation'. It is there to satisfy the treehuggers and you will waste money replacing it.

Not true! Rear sensors are used for final trim.

The problem is we don't know WHAT a failed secondary O2 does besides flag a code ...............how the ecu reacts to a signal that the cat has failed.

It {OBD2] just assumes the secondary has failed not the CAT or does it do something protective just in case?

The reason you replace O2 is to turn the light off so you DON"T MISS SOMETHING MAJOR.

There are 300 things that can turn the MIL light on some minor some very major and engine life threatening!
