i'm in the middle of putting in a nakamichi cd-400 in my q. i noticed the fm reception now bites, but the am is pretty good. i used an antenna adaptor from crutchfield so that the 2 pronged diversity plug could plug into the one prong jack on the back of the radio. does anybody know if the bose head unit had some kind of signal boost for the radio? on channels that used to come in clear, they are now about 1/3 less clear, and i could swear that it's missing, to some extent, the highs. anybody got any suggestions to check out? thanks.

for your ground on the radio did you run it to the original factory ground in the harness or did run it the body. the latter is the best thing to do when installing an aftermarket radios.

nistech-i ran the ground to the chassis--found some metal supports propping up the dash and thought i'd found a good place. i will re-check it though--i suppose i could check continuity to the original ground. any idea about resistance--where i could measure it and what any reading might indicate? thanks. argh, and i'd put the dash back together after checking everything else except the fm reception...

I believe you have an antenna amp in there as well either in your c pillar or in the trunk. but if you did not mess with anytning but the antenna adapter you should be ok there. to check your ground. use one of the bolts in the door jam were the guide is mounted for the door in the front of the door opening, place the other lead on you ground should have no more then .02 ohms.
