ok i have some extra stuff tapped into my tachsignal wire from the ECU. i have.1)the stock tach2)AFC II3)wideband

now with the wideband hooked up my tach signal is garbage, like it can't supply power to all these things,so i need another source.i also plan on adding an AVC-R, and a shift light.both of wich require tach signal, is there a ource inside the car that will work for the wideband and AVC-R and one in the engine bay for the shiftlight? or maybe an adapter of somekind that will allow me to use the same source i'm using now.help a brotha out.the car is a 96 the engine is an S15 sr20.

Build a little distribution amplifier.

It will cost like $5 in parts at radio shack. Its called an op amp voltage follower circut. Its capable of supplying the signal to more devices without the voltage dropping. You might also be inducing noise on the wire with all the extra runs to the devices acting as antenni. You could try sheilding them or shortening the runs to the main wire.

Node I have the same problem, but my shift light looks it's not getting enough power. I have my shift light and my rpm sensor for the auto start tapped on the same line as my rpm signal on the dash.

I tried to get that op amp voltage follower circuit from radio shack. The guy gave me 741 op amp. When I hecked the back label it says ideal for use as a voltage follower. Wanted to know if this is the right one, and if it is how do I go about it. Thanks in advance

Yea thats correct. The circut is called a voltage follower circut. When hooked up what all it does is take the signal coming in and supply more current so that it can drive more devices. I think there was even a schematic for it on the back of the package for a while. You can also find schematics for practically anthing using google.

Yea I have the auto start, AFC-II and, a few other things hooked up and the signal is a little dirty but I hooked as close to the ECU as posible and every thing seems to be fine. You know the line that comes directly from the distributor to the ECU thats where I got the best signal. Rather than from the dash wire. Do a search I posted the ECU pinout and wire colors a while ago maybe two months
