My car sometimes overheats when in traffic. I also hear a loud fan or belt noise. What's going on?

Thanks

Probably helpful to have more info (like, what kind of car)...

Fan belt shouldn't make noise, so that's Job One. Noise after belt replacement means bad water pump or belt tensioner... all easily-replaced parts.

Your question was rather vague, so it's nearly impossible to give an answer. You'll want to design your question effectively. Try to describe the problem or question as thoroughly as possible. Include all necessary details but no unnecessary ones. As AZhitman suggested, all we know about your vehicle is that it appears to be made by Nissan, so let's start with the basics.

What model?
What trim level?
Year of manufacture?
How many miles on your vehicle?
How long has it been exhibiting these problems?
When was the last time the vehicle was serviced? What work was done?
