My '05 coupe just turned over 66k miles...

The temp keeps moving dangerously close to the "H"

The fans (both) kick on and never cycle off when the car reaches normal temp.

Radiator is full and there doesn't appear to be any leaks.

Seems to run hotter when on the freeway (fans keep running) and not in heavy traffic (fans keep running) with stop and go conditions.

Heater kicks out heat inside car.

I'm grateful for your thoughts and ideas.

Could be an air pocket trapped, a defective thermostat, or a defective water pump.

With the engine cold after sitting all night, open the hood, remove the radiator cap and check the coolent level in the plastic overflow tank.

Start the engine and keep an eye on the open radiator, overflow tank, and the temp gauge. If there is air trapped in the system it should bubble out of the open radiator.
After the engine reaches normal operating temperature replace the radiator cap to allow the pressure to build up.
If the trouble continues I would take it to the dealer for a pressure test, thermostat and water pump test.

Have you opened your coolant system at all lately? If you have - then its probably air in the system which needs to be bled out via the valve towards the battery compartment.

If you are sure that both fans are spinning properly - then its probably a stuck thermostat. Swap the T-stat ($20) and flush your coolant ($20) at the same time.
