My lovely 92 coupe that i recently picked up (hit from the front, look for the thread) had a crack in the radiator, so i went to the junkyard and pulled one from an 89 hatch.

well, after installing it, i drove around. i'm not really sure what to do after installing a new radiator, so yeah. i figured i'd ask now! i drove around, temperature stayed on cold, then shot up to warm, stayed there for about 2-3 minutes then started going higher so i coasted home with the heater on full blast.

i checked the connections and there are no leaks, the reservoir is full, and i filled up the radiator. (however i may not have filled it up enough as i was told to fill it until i can't see the core, which at the time i couldn't, but i probably need to refill it)

please help!

you need to get the air bubbles out. search for the coolant change procedure. Also there have been alot of these threads popping up as of late.

Tangent: A weird thing, alot of folks are changing their coolant in the winter and overheating in the chill of winter. I just think it's ironic.

nah I was commenting in general. Not in your case specifically. Seriously have a look through the next couple pages of the 240sx tech and the online mechanic sections and you'll see what I'm talking about. Hence my putting the comment "Tangent"
