So I replaced my head gasket and had some over heating issues or so I thought. I went down the check list, air bubbles, thermo, senors, warped or cracked head (compressions fine, no smoke). But my gauge is reading the line before hot (H). But thats where it stays. But the radiator or engine doesn't get hot or should I say that hot. I even let it sit at "H" for 15 min then drove and nothing happen gauge stayed engine didn't ove heat nothing it acted normal. I did replace my gauges about a week ago. Maybe their wired wrong cuase my speedo doesn't work till I hit about 30-35 mph. any advice did I miss something or is it just my gauges?

check/replace the temperature sending unit if you're not sure if it's really overheating. Found out that's what was wrong with mine, too bad I was already $1500 into a engine rebuild. Now I have no car.
