i just recently read a thread with the exact same overheating problems but nothing really helped.

I am running flexalite dual electric fans. the car is overheating while in traffic, idle, or just slow street driving. it never overheats on the highway or when I push it hard. It always seems to boil/bubble the coolant into the reserve coolant tank.

I pressure tested the radiator system and there are no leaks. I flushed my coolant system the other week. The fans go on most of the time.

when it overheats the needle goes straight to the top. then i shut the engine off, turn it back on, the fans go on and the engine temp goes to about normal. I'm not sure what the hells goes on, but it always boils the coolant when it overheats and puts it in the reserve tank.

brought it to a bunch of mechanics, none of them could find the problem when i leave it with them . they run the car at idle for half a day and nothing happens. its usually when the engine is hot that this happens or after you drive it fairly hard in hot weather.

any help would be greatly appreciated thanx

Whats the temp reading on your (non stock) temp gauge?

Make sure you really bled the coolant good.
