overheating question

K so got a new radiator and i dont think i have a blown head gasket or nething but my car starts up fine then if i drive it for a while or get on it then shut it off after the temp gauge will go up to like 160 then when i go to start it up it hesitates and dosnt start unless i pump or hold down the gas. any ideas?

well by the sound of it, let me get this right. when u first start it it runs fine right, then it starts missing after it gets warm then starts over heatin. then dies or u turn it off before it gets to hot. if that is your symptoms then it sounds like a head gasket. i would check your oil form water and make sure your not losin water. the reason i say headgasket is because you have to pump your throttle. could be intake gasket as well but not as likley. let my know what u find

the car runs fine and after im done driving or whatever i turn the car off then it gets hot to where if i come back to leave 5 mins later it hesitates to start so thats why i pump the gas. please help

try this. when the car is cold. take the radiator cap off. get inside and crank the car over while looking at the open radiator. if fluid shoots out of the radiator, your compression is blowing through your headgasket. Not a good thing.

tested and it does not shoot out of radiator. hoses are clean. any other ideas ?

i don't think its overheating, i think hes saying that once his car gets up to temp, its hard to get it to start again after he shuts it off...maybe your fuel pump relay is losing continuity once it gets hot? I had a honda do that...when you turn your key, see if your pump primes
