I was driving home last night, half way home I noticed my temp was what is is during the summer(i haven't seen it so high in cold weather before) so when I pull into the driveway the temp is around 170, I believe, which is higher that it has ever been and steam is coming out from under the hood and I see coolant spraying everywhere. I also heard a hissing sound and the leak was near the intake manifold.

I am assuming and hoping this is just a blown hose but I didn't see any tears on the hose and I didn't see the coolant spraying out of the hose.

Anyone have an idea? Thanks

You aren't going to know until you get in there and found the hose that busted.

Hopefully it's just a hose. I'd replace all those around the area that you saw water spraying from. If you aren't lucky then maybe the metal part of the intake manifold that the hose plugs up to cracked and is leaking..

What sucks though is once one hose goes, they will all start slowly going out. If I were you'd I start replacing them all...

Edit:It might be impossible to find where the hose is leaking from when the hose is at normal temp. Squeeze the hoses and see if any of them feel different, but like I said, I'd just replace them all around that area, and I'd slowly replace all of them.

I have two replacement hoses right now. I'm gonna take a pic of where I think it may be leaking out of which would not be the hose. I'll have it up in 5min

I can't tell where it's leaking from since it sprayed everywhere..Get a FSM and find which coolant hoses are in that area and replace them...

I wouldn't spend my time finding the exact hose, because once 1 hose goes, it's a matter of time before they all go. If I were you I'd just spend the time on replacing all those hoses around it instead of trying to find the 1 hose that is leaking.

Edit:One the 3rd pic, it doesn't even look like 1 hose is plugged in..Or is that just the angle?

Well I figured out what it was. It is a hose coming from the water pump. Thanks for the imput I will change all the hoses now.

Yes trust me it sucks replacing hoses, but better to do it now and not have to worry about this...

I had a camaro and my dad told me to do the same thing but I was too lazy.1 hose would burst, I'd fix it, 3-4 months later at some crappy time another would burst. I was still lazy so like 3-4 months later another burst and then I was like ok I'll replace all of them but I shouldn't have to worry about the "cold" hose that goes from the radiator to the engine block..

Well that one burst like 1 year later on my way to work...

Coolant system suck, once one thing goes it's only a matter of time before the next weakest link goes out.

ere arent 2 hoses that can go bad, there r allot more then that, fill the coolant up and let it warm up so u can see where its spraying from.

u consider 170 to be hot??????

Looks like the small hose that goes to the throttle body let go.

tear it down and replace all hte coolent hoses. If one failed the others won't be far behind.

Just be sure to blead the system when you fill it back up and you should be good to go. Not a hard repair just a PIA. I would judge it to be about 1 1/2 knuckles.
