After installing a new radiator and thermostat my 91 ka24 keeps overheating and somehow my heater blows cold. Not sure what the problem is ive tried searching and found nothing similar beside removing air from the system. but ive done that by opening the air release bolt and filling my radiator till water comes out the hole then capping them both off. Also my top radiator hose is hot while my bottem is cold if that means anything

I Really need some help or advice -Thanks in Advance -Franco

update changed thermo with OE (boiled an works fine)Still having same symptoms

You have to park on a steep incline with radiator cap and air valve open with car running. Heater should be on. Sit on the fender to shake car. Just a small pocket of air can cause overheating. your bottom hose should be cold. it is cooled air going back to engine from rad. you have air in your system. takes a long time to get out.

Mine was boiling too and spilling out . I just assumed it was normal for it to boil and overflow but now that all the air is out it doesnt boil over when cap is off. I really underestimated how hard it is to get all the air out.

Theres an easy sollution. Take your thermostat back out and drill a small hole (bout 1/8) in the 12 O'clock position on the thermostat. Refill with coolant and ther you go. all done. no more trying to bleed the air out. Its what I have done to both of mine.
