I have a 95 nissan 240sx with 198000 miles. it overheats after ten minutes of driving. when it does the radiator hose is rock hard. when i open the cap it lets the coolant into the overflow but it doesn't take it back up when it cools back down. So far I have changed the thermostat, radiator, radiator cap,back-flushed the radiator, and water pump was replaced about 6 months ago. There is no water in the oil and visa versa so probably not the head gasket. The converter has been replaced with a pipe. the coolant is fresh mixed at 50/50What next?

Blown headgasket or cracked/warped head. Thats what I went through with mine. Just b/c there is no water in the oil or vis versa doesn't meen you don't have a head problem. The head can crack in the water jacket and allow hot air to escape into the water jacket causing you to oveheat.

I had the exact same issue and I changed everything you did first and then I took the head off and sent it out to a machine shop and it was warped. I would say your head is warped / crack. After I changed my head the car is back to normal.

Also check to make sure you bleed the coolant system at the water outlet. Just crack the screw to let any air out. See if that helps.

I have the EXACT same issue with my 1995 S14.

I am running out of options because I don't want to invest $$ into the KA when it is being removed.

So I am going to try those bottles of fluid that gets poured into the ratiator system and it seals any cracks or leaks. It does work with most small stuff but for larger leaks and cracks it probably won't do sh*t.But I am crossing my fingers because I miss my baby :sigh:

TRY PRESSURE TESTING YOUR COOLING SYSTEM TO ENSURE IT WILL HOLD PRESSURE.
