I have a ka24e that ran plenty cool through the 100+ degree weather all summer long with a/c blasting. Then the a/c started to squeak so I bought an a/c compressor belt, jacked up the car and took all the belts off (I wouldnt have taken them all off but as far as I could tell you have to to get the the a/c compressor belt off) Anyway... all the belts looked great. It looks like the previous owner had changed them recently so I threw all the belts back on and tried again. The car squeaks worse now. Turns out its the a/c clutch that is squeaking. Dont want to take apart the compressor so I figure screw it. Summer is almost over and I plan on swapping an SR before it gets too hot next year anyways so I just wont run the a/c. But wait... now it sqeals right when I start it up (a/c off) for just a few seconds and if I run the car for more than ten minutes (around town not just idle) it starts to run hot. WTF? help please!!!

have you tried putting more tension on the waterpump belt. my car used to squeak alot at startup, then i found out it was cause the alternator was loose.

Yeah, why are you asking us man. You can start the car and see. I assume it would be the tension on the belts, or try a belt dressing.

belt dressing isnt the greatest thing to use. take the belts off, clean the pulleys and put new belts on. check water pump. not necessarily in that order.

over heating is probably just the thermostat (just happened to go at the time you were doing maintenance) the squeeling is probably just a loose belt, tighten it up and go from there. thermostats like 8 bucks and a water pump is like 50. iirc. It would be a good idea to change both while your at it. Dont drive your car if it overheats. I learnt my lesson the hardway. but it gives me an excuse to go sr.
