Hey everyone,

I have a '93 Nissan 240sx with the SR20DET motor swap. The cooling fans are not running and the car is over heating. I replaced the relay and the harness but the fans still are not working. Despite the problem, the fans do work when i connect them to the battery manually. I believe that the issue lies within the thermostat / coolant sensor but am not positive. I have been looking for a sensor but am unable to locate one of the appropriate size. Mine is shorter with a "stubby" end and the ones I've been finding are longer. Any ideas?

Thank You.

wire a realy to a toggle switch, thats how mine is, yeah it may be a pain to monitor your temps constantly, but it works

so you have electric fans and there not turning on when they need to. IIRC, both KA and SRs have a belt driven fan on the water pump pulley that just run off the engine. Only the A/C fan on the front side of the condenser has an electric fan.

If you have electric fans, then what are they connected to that would make them turn on?

I have a fan controller that uses a temp sensor in the lower radiator hose, and I'm not aware of any circuitry that could be used to turn on the fan besides the AC relay. (if I'm wrong please let me know).

another option is to wire it to a relay thats triggered off ignition being in the "on" position. It will run all the time though. (if you go that option, I'd pick something that has power cut when actually starting. I can't be sure but I think the meter relay is setup like that, but you don't want electric fans drawing a crapload of current when trying to start the car.)

Stop making the same thread, you have only ever made 3 threads and they are all about the same thing. I posed good advice in your first thread, read it, try it, then post in that same tread!
