No.

It is likely one of two things:1) Your new t-stat is defective and not opening at the proper temperature; or (more likely)2) You have an air bubble in the coolant flow of the engine, as a result of changing the radiator/hoses etc. and refilling the engine up with coolant. Do a search and look up how to "burp" or "bleed" the coolant system, there's a bleed screw on the manifold.

lift the front of the car up as high as possible, or park on an extreamly inclined road front pointed up. remove rad cap. remove the bleader screw on the front of the manifold near the 2 ground wires. fill rad till coolant comes out bleader hole. reinstall the screw ,continue to fill the radiator till its full. start engine and allow it to get to operating temp. top off fluid as you see it drop untill it wont take any more then install cap and road test.

meantime's got it I think. The usual culprit is an air pocket in the coolant, but defective thermostats are quite common. I had similar problems so I replaced the thermostat first... still over heated... replaced the water pump... still overheated... bled the lines 8 TIMES!!! and still overheated. Finally decided to take out my brand new thermostat... boiled it in a pot... NEVER OPENED UP!!! bought another new one and it hasn't had a problem since.
