overheating at idle

temp going up at idle is usually the thermostat right?

my car temp only goes up at idle if i sit for 2-3 min

try thermostat, check the 2 sensors near the upper radiator hose/head, check fan clutch, check water pump, make sure you have fluid in the radiator :)

i missed that one, next time ill read more carefully.

the fact that it is overheating at idle leads me to belive that it is caused by lack of air flowing through the radiator. is your fan shroud in place?

well i checked it out today there was a small lil hole in the top of the radiator, and i think all the fluid was evaporating or there is a hole somewhere else, but i dont see one

so i filled it upused some JB weld to patch itand its fine now

now i just need an alignment i think, and i should be set for another week til something else brakes

fans, it has to be related to fans.I had the same problem.... and it was the fans.

if it is only at idle, put a new fan clutch in and see what hapens

Where is the fan clutch located, and any price estimates and how tos?

attached to the fan itself. A belt goes around the pully thats attached to the other side of it. Go to any auto poarts store, they can give you an estimate on it.
