T3 offers the cheap aftermarket radiators and the oem factory units there is a difference. Most opt for the cheap units as the $300 difference.

I don't use either as long ago I decided even the factory unit was not sufficient for MY NEEDS. Kind of a trade off between rad cost and auxillary fan life.

There will be a 10% [3-5F] or more difference in the units [cheap vs factory] they look almost the same. But there is a 1.7-2.5 pound difference in weight.

The factory didn't test beyond the 70,000 mile warranty life! Nor did they measure BUGS per inch.

This was a conclusion that the prior owner relates to me, about the FAN - since we are buds and have a starbucks together couple times a week, he mentioned I ought to upgrade the FAN system to electric if possible. He had "thought" about using maybe a Ford related aftermarket electric ..... since they tend to be large enough. Part of his issues was to releive the motor of that stress, and perhaps gain some add'l HP. Since this car just got a NEW factory unit installed - outta sight outta mind.

So whats the NICO recommended Radiator and FAN setup? Anyone ever have success with an electric fan system?

DO NOT EVEN THINK OF ELECTRIC FANS........THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ALTERNATOR RESERVE! Plus hard to duplicate the efficiency of a oem set up.The Auxillary electric fan is more than adequate with a new oem radiator.

I needed the Q to be able to idle for an hour in extreme hot condition while I used it as a electronic survey vehicle........way beyond any design parameters.

My special custom radiator holds 20% more coolant and is 100% aluminum with thicker plates..........everything else is as oem designed.
