Its a new radiator he said, so clogged wont make sense.

Check your hoses. Thermos, water pump and radiator are the only things that block your coolant flow. You could try removing your thermostat and running the engine. It will stay cool its just not good to do in the winter as it would take a long time to warm up the engine. Could be an air bubble in the engine. could be a sensor malfunction. when you turn your car on does it go to hot right away or gradually?

If you blow your head gasket that means your coolant is mixing with your oil and makes room for clogging. In the end you may have to open the whole engine.

Guy, you're missing the obvious. The car has not been bled properly of all air from the coolant system.

I had the same damn problem after replacing the T-stat and water pump. Soon, this condition blew a massive hole in my rad, and I was forced to get a new rad. It took me about 2.5 wks of minor tweaks to 100% bleed it.

If you have blown a HG, you'll be blowing constant white smoke out of the exhaust. I have seen enough TC cars exhibit this trait of a dying motor.

Now, engine coolant temp sensor might be bad, because my MPG has lowered from a constant 24-25 mixed MPG (250-270 miles w/ 1/4 tank left to spare) to a lowly 20-21 MPG (below the 1/4 tank at 220-230 miles). No CEL. I do not look forward to bleeding the coolant again.

He is right, i just flushed my coolant and i had to run my car without the rad cap to let all the bubbles come up and keep filling the rad up with water / coolant untill the thermostat opens then a bunch of bubbles come up and you fill 1 last time. then put the rad cap on for the pressure and your good to go. Let all the air out and she sould be fine.
