I think it is because I dumped water on the spark cover trying to cool the area of the burst coolant line, but I am a tad worried. Ran fine when I shut it off, revvs fine, no smoke, doesn't overheat now, and once revved a little idles great. Just the first few seconds seems off. Any thoughts?

If you threw some water on the top of the engine, I do highly suggest to remove the coil packs and clean all the corrosion the water caused between the coils and the spark plugs, also clean the spark plugs.

Cool. I just went to start it and all is normal. I better clean it qucik cuz I just put new BCPR7s in yesterday.

I can't belive the amount of crap this motor can take. Seriously...

yeah I was driving mine and the water temp gauge went up to 200, then started going back down... (running out of coolant)I pulled over and it turned out my radiator cap wasn't sealing... when I first turned it over it was running rough too, but once it cooled down and got filled back up and ran a bit, it was running just fine again.

Dude, you're going to start looking like Tim if you keep overheating that motor...

Yeah, I know. I did it in desperation. It was only a gallon, and as soon as it started to sizzle, I stopped.

I keep poppoing damn coolant lines. This one was the lower heater hose. I *think* I now have all of them replaced

And on a side note: I mentioned that I am now running BCPR7s. I was a little shocked at the difference. Seems much revvier and I actually notice more power (T25G, Stock ECU, 8psi)

replace all the coolant lines and the radiator cap, thats what I had to do after I had all these pinhole leaks.

I try to keep water away from my engine, its temperamental enough dry.

Like I said, all lines have now burst and been replaced LOL. And I have a Nismo rad cap so that is a check.

How many psi is the NISMO cap? I went up to a Z32 TT cap (16psi IIRC) which is better than the stock one.

I got one of the replacement style ones that you can vent excessive pressure with. its great except it doesn't always seal...

Z32 TT here as well. I htink its like .1 or .2 psi difference to Nismo, why pay all that much extra?

I got my Nismo one on sale for $23, so I said for the bling +1, why not

It is 1.3bar/19.11psi BTW.

all the stupid parts store sells here are the stupid venting ones (which I like the design of but don't like the occasional leaking). Where do you guys get your solid Z32 ones? surely not from a nissan dealer (I'd think $$).

i will have to get you guys a picture of my cap contraption!!

i took a DSM radiator cap/thermostat housing cut it up and welded it to my CA thermostat housing, threw in a nice big DSM core out of a 98 eclipse with a 420A dual 12" dual speed fans. the first problem i ran into is that i effectively put the cap lower then the highest point in the system which means its a b*tch to bleed and fill completelty! but it does keep it cooled off.
