My overhead console towards the front part has developed a annoying squeak. If I push on the front of it towards the windshield it stops for that moment. Anyone have a jpg or pdf on how to remove it so I can figure out what is going on, before it drives me completely nuts.

You didn't specify which year M you have, but I have an 07 I have been looking for clear instructions on how to replace the unit as the passenger map light has a bad socket and does not light up. I checked my CD manual and it shows a diagram but (as usual for Infiniti) it is not even close to being clear on how to remove the unit.
Hopefully someone who has replaced it, or at least knows how to remove it will post and help us out.

I found this on alldatadiy:

Pull overhead console toward vehicle lower, and disengage dual-lock fastener (1) and metal clips (2).

CAUTION: Overhead console is crimped from back of headlining. Remove it by disengaging the crimping area of back of overhead console after removing headlining from the vehicle.

It shows the dual-lock fastener at the right hand corner nearest to the passenger seat and the two metal clips at the back of the sunglass holder.

So it sounds like you need to remove the headliner and console as a single unit, then remove the console once you can get to the back side.

That's the same impression I got from my Infinit CD manual as well. The part they left out is ... to remove the headliner, you need to remove the windsreen pilars, the side pilars, and bits from the rear as well. I don't sit in the passenger seat but a few times per year so since it has no effect on MY map lamp ... I can live with the passenger not having one at all.

WHAT!! I have to remove the whole headliner to remove the overhead console. Geez so much for a easy fix. Anyone have any instructions on how to remove the headliner?

I just checked the link one more time. It worked for some reason Google Chrome didn't like it, go figure. Thanks
