overhaul and a question

im getting on over haul on my car. can anyone tell me what needs to be fixed up or replaced during an overhaul. recently i have heard a strange like shaking noise coming from under my car and i think(im not an expert) its my transmission. i can figure out what it is, it sounds like aluminum is shaking around. can anyone help me

an overhaul can be as extensive as u want it to be. just replace everything and call it a day

Rattles are usually just loose heat shields. They sometimes make different noises at different RPMs.

Do you mean a tuneup? Whats the milage on your car?

I just did an overhaul myself at 150k: New O2 sensor, fuel filter, oil pan gasket, front crank seal, spark plugs, radiator flush, ect. The car runs awesome. The guy that sold it to me for $1000 would be crapping his pants right now if he saw it today!!!

thats basic maintnence jeansguy. Overhaul reffers to cyl. bore correction,rings,lapping valves,valve guide seals,internal engine bearing replacement,things of that nature.
