So i just purchased some over fenders for my s14. they are fiberglass or pulyurethene or something. whatever they make like duraflex out of... anyway, i've been contemplating how i want to install them. its SEEMS that most people just rivet them on and call it a day. Unfortunately, i dont like the look of the rivets (unless i had some aero), AND more importantly i dont want to put a whole bunch of holes in my fender... the reason i dont want to put holes in my fender is because i live in north jersey and im afraid of rust. so i was wondering if it would be possible to buy some like aircraft grade or military grade adhesive and basically glue it on? will it be strong enough to hold it on over bumps and at high speeds? also, since they are cheap overfenders they dont exactly line up or make good contact with the oem fender so my other idea would be to use like silicone to fill in the gaps... but would that be strong enough?

sorry for making it so long. send me some opinions, especially if you have overfenders yurself. thanks nico! you rock :mike

looks like you bought the wrong fenders then. you need sheetmetal and welds. although i would like to see how glued on over fenders works ive never seen that one

There are automotive adhesives that are made for "gluing" body panels together, contact a local body shop or use google to figure out what the stuff is called.

Or, just smear some silicone on the rivets before you put them in the holes and lock them in place. A little silicone between the over fenders (specifically around the holes where the rivets go) and the body of the car won't hurt either.
