Is it better to leave the overdrive on or off? I've heard it's better to just leave it on, but doesn't that have a negative effect in the long run?

with the button not pressed in, you're essentially removing 4th gear...runs your engine harder and kills the gas mileage..

Good to know. I've just been switching back and forth and started to notice the gas mileage was horrible so while I had gotten the advice to leave it on, I wasn't 100% sure and then someone else had told me the constant switching was normal. Though doesn't that heat up the transmission and shortens the life of it?

yea i made that mistake before the 5speed swap. i had it off and didnt know it so i put the pedal to the floor to see what it had and then my trans started smoking. once i realized it it hasnt smoked scense

still i added a little fluid to compensate for the stuff that burnt uponly like 1/2 a quart i needed some anyway
