overdrive issues?????

ok i have searched for an answer but cant find it. so hear we go.

i have a 90 240sx hatchback ka24e automatic trans(sucks i know). i recently did some repairs, i changed the starter, tires rims, exhaust (not the header yet) struts front and rear, pads and rotors, oil, power steering pump, and now after driving for a month or so the transmission is acting up.

ok the first time i drive the car at first it does fine then when i stop again it starts the gears hit 1st ok 2nd ok 3rd ok and then you can barly tell but it goes into overdrive but its like driving with overdrive off. them rpm's are running like 4500's at 55 60mph.then even after i park for an hour it still does itjust not the first time in a day.??? the only thing else is the speedometer hasn't worked in two years i dont know if that has anything to do with it but i am clueless and i'd rather to the work myself than to take it somewhere.
