I have recently discovered an alarm when I go 160km/h (100MPH) or over...

Do your Q's have the same thing?

Also, the faster I go (over 160) the faster the alarm "dings"....

PS: At least i have discovered that the 180km/h speed limiter has been over-ridden.

My Q has a warning bell once you go over 107kmh, same as my silvia.

It's because of where you live, US cars don't have this. When i lived in South America, virtually all the cars over there had that warning bell when you reached 100 mph.

My US Q45's did not have this alarm ... would have been most annoying if it went off and I could not disable it!

Hmmm ... that is pretty low for a speed limiter setting!

I drove my 1991 Q45 for an extended trip at near 145 to 150mph (about 240km/h) many years ago ... without hitting the limiters.

I kept it below 150mph, since I thought the limiter was set to 155mph or so and I did not want to encounter it - not sure of how the car did its limits and did not want to lose control at that speed!

Were you driving across the Nevada desert or just keeping up with Bay Area rush hour traffic?

If it was the Nevada desert (US50, the lonliest highway in America?) I can hardly wait to take my Q out there and open her up!

Japanese law mandates all cars must be speed limited to 180km/h.......

And my Q definitely comes from Japan.

PS: The speed limiter would stop fuel flow, causing you to decelerate.... then once it drops to a set point (usually 10km/h below the limit), the fuel will start flowing again, allowing you to accelerate....

Not too dangerous in it's operation....

i guess all stock JDM NISSAN has alarm and should sound at around 110km/h, it happened on my skyline GTS-T, ,my friend's Q45 and Silvia, butsome are disabled, I did 220km/h on my GTR and 180 km/h on the Q, no alarm at all.
