My 2006 M35x is over heating now and it never has. I replaced my leaking radiator and added 1.25 gallons of water that looked like the amount that drained out. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

Could be a thermostat issue...

Could also be bubbles in the coolant. That seems to be a typical problem on these cars after radiator replacements.

just a thought.... on my old car (b4 this one)...it kept overheating... took it they replaced the thermo, basically everything related to the cooling system but the radiator. It turns out that the issue was the Degress (spelling) bottle (overflow bottle) it had a slight crack and was causing the continuous overheating... good thing he replaced it for free (because it wasnt a cheap part) after he had already charged me close to $600+ for all the work he had done thinking he was fixing it....

also FYi... I love forums because that is where I found to check that Degress bottle and passed that info on to the mechanic...thats how it ended up getting resolved... I HAD to do the research work... just not the dirty work.. haha

Thanks everyone turns out it was air in the system, there is a air bleeder valve by the heater core. I should have read manual first, this is not my same old 1978 280z.
