My 1992 240sx Fastback seems to liek to get excessivley hot rather quickly

I ahve searched and found no helpful info

it starts out fine runs good doesnt go above 1/2 way tot eh H on the gauge

then after maybe 20minutes of driving it gradually(but rather fast) rises to the H

it happens sooner if i come to a stopsign or light and ahve to sit

once i start moving again it goes down a bit, but then goes up to H and i always go straight home after that

i bought a thermostat but (sadly enough ) had troubel replacing it due to the housing nto coming off

is the thermostat even my problem? i was thinking of having a shop just replace the thermo and water-pump to be on the safe side?

Help

check your thermostat and waterpump. those are the main reasons why your car would be overheating.
