I have a 96 240 and the damn thing keeps over heating. I have replaced the reditor, waterpump, thermostat, and both raditior hoses and it still over heats. I have drained the coolant twice and filled it back up slowly to push the air out but the same thing keeps happening. Teh top raditior hose gets reallytight to the point of bursting but the lower hose is like it should be. If you have any answers to this pleaselet me know. thanks

is the return hose to the radiator hot when you touch it? pyrometer would be better.

how is your clutch fan. if you still have your mechanical fan.

yes the return fan gets hot and gets tight. I still have the mechanical fan along with the electrical fan and they both work fine

does it overheat from idle on traffic or cruising or is it period of time?

im thinking that you installed & inspected everything properly. thinking you did it yourself?

ok...overheating is usually 3 things: coolant level, heat transfer, & coolant circulation.

1. coolant mixture/ coolant level ( it should be pressure test ) / air in the system

2.fans heat trasnfer like sitting on traffic

3.restriction circulation on radiator/ stuck thermostat/ bad pump

thats all...

unless you have a hot spot somewhere on the motor. duum dum dum. :-0 (shocked face )
