Over heating problem.

So my car kept overheating and i took it to a mechanic he hooked a device that tells u whats wrong with your car and it came out to be i had been leaking from my water pump so i replaced it with a new one and the leak stopped but it still overheats what else could be the problem????

thermostat, radiator, water pump. those three items about wrap up the cooling system

well new water pump, and the radiator was replaced a couple months back, oh yeah my radiator cap is old could that be a problem aswell??my neighbor know a thing or two bout nissan and he said try getting a new radiator cap and if it still overheats then it shud be the thermostat....

since you just had your water pump replaced, there's a chance that the system wasn't bled correctly and there's air in the system. Also, when does it overheat? At a stoplight? or while your coasting? the fan clutch could be bad. or a thermostat , depending on your answer.

Could also be the head gasket. If you take the radiator cap off while it is running, and have a steady stream of air bubble, that would be the problem.

Heads Gasket prob usually leads to smoking. I agree that your system might not have been bled properly. Thermostat is also a very common prob. When does she overheat. Stopped or while cruising. Have you ever put STOP LEAK in your radiator? (That s*** should be illegal)

When im coasting, i was told my thermostat was the problem, So ima go ahead and replace that and hopefully that solves my problem thanx guys! for the feedback.
