a few days ago i decided my car was getting a little too hot on the highway so i dumped in half a bottle of water wetter and then later while driving my temp kept shooting all the way up and wouldnt cool down for maybe another 5- 10 minutes, it did this maybe 3 times. the next morning i changed the thermostat and put the same coolant back in bled the system and drove it around and the same ****. the t-stat i removed was a 180 deg the one i installed was a 170 deg. the only way i could get the car to cool down would be to leave the fans off and feel the radiator untill the thermostat was open and it got hot then turn the fans on. today i ran the wire to my fans to the original switch in the bottom radiator hose and also changed the coolant and added 1/3 green stuff and the rest water with 1/2 bottle of water wetter. the fans only coem on when the radiator gets hot like they are supposed to now but it still gets at least one instance of going up to almost h and back to normal in a 5-10 mile drive. the real question is , does water wetter in the system make my thermostat slow to open because i never experienced this type of behavior before. i have tried everything thing on the piece so far and tested for leaks, no combustion gas enters cooling system ect... anyone ever have bad outcoem from using water wetter?

I have never heard of water wetter causing a problem like that, what is the condition of your water pump? could just be time for a new one, what about the condition of your radiator? pop the cap and look in there, are there deposits that are restricting flow through it?

water pump is new, and if a temp sensor was bad would it do that. seems strange alltogether maybe the head has some poo clogged in it, if i try another sensor and it doesnt change i guess a good flush would be the only option. this is an all bran new clenaed and machined engine tho unless they left something in a water jacket in the block i do not see y it does this. time to light it on fire and push it down a hill i guess lol

maybe its the BIG *** FMIC blocking all the air flow to the radiator......

it always ran super cool even before i notched the bumber out. i was just thinking tho and took off the belt and spun the water pump and it had an evident strange noise just turning by hand. the flow seems slow to pick up so this is an indicator the water pump is not pumping. seems like the pulley moves but the impeller does not. if this is my problem i will give advance auto parts an earfull.

does the belt seem to be in good condition? I could be slipping and not fully spinning the WP. you should get oem wp not advanced auto.....

lol i live in mansfield they do not have oem nissan available and yes the belt is tight the water pump itself felt strange by hand and i will be checking it out soon. if its effered i will just have to replace it and get an oem one ordered and just install it when it gets here. my stock one was low mile but a little piece of silicone got into the seal and made the seal go out.

the water pump is fine for now i checked everything over. it may be the temp sensor because it should be bubbling over if its clear on the h and it is not bubbling over when its clear on the h. where can i get a water pump from online anyways, ive been looking and no luck yet. im sure if i am going to need a temp sensor that will have to be factory nissan as well or it will just fail like every other non oem part from what ive been told so far. can napa or carquest order genuine nissan parts?
