I drove the car two days ago. No problems. I drive it today and its over heating sporatically. Its go all the way up in like 1 sec. then drop back down to normal. A couple minutes later it'll do the same thing. Its really wierd. Its not hot here at all so its not temperature related. Starting the car after a while of sitting it might take 5 mins and then it starts doing it again. Sometimes its staying all the way near the top for like 5 mins then it jumps back down for a while then back up then back down.

sounds like a slow responding thermostat.

check the both radiator hose.. when the temp start go high.. make sure that you dont feel the bubble.. which is air in the water. ---- mostly headgasketif the water temp is dramatically different than upper and lower hose.. it is thermostat.

I have seen couple of the water temp sender( the one to the gauge go bad ) which the gauge reads wierd.. going up ,, comming down..

make sure there is no air in the water system.. if there is any air in system.. sometime. the sensor will read the air temp in the system rather than reading water temp, which will make temp gauge to go crazy. if there is a air bleed it.
