We replaced the thermostat and water pump and it still overheated. We replaced the head gasket and radiator cap. Still over heats. Checked the crank fan and it seems fine. I have a new radiator I have not tried yet. But just with a hose to it, this radiator seems to flow fine.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Sometimes the new thermostat is faulty as well. I know this because it has happened to me on more than one episode with different cars from different manufacturers. Sometimes your radiator is the culprit, so if you have a new radiator, go ahead and give it a swing if you can verify that all other components are functioning that can cause over-heating issues. Also, check and see if your headgasket is letting coolant out. And lastly, if you overboosted the engine on an outting or two, you could easily mess-up a piston or even the headgasket. Hope this advice helps a bit and good luck.
