Try resetting the ecu. If that doesn't solve the problem. Disconnect the factory button and try manually switching it. If that doesn't resolve it, check all the wiring for a short. If all the electrical is good, there is a chance that overdrive went out.

The OD light can come on for diagnostic reasons, or because you have manually shut overdrive off.

I tried that and it didnt work, the switch i thought at first and took it out and tested it and it had continuity,,,,,,,,

whats up with the fluid temp sensor or o2sensor,,,,,,could these be a problem also?or with the light staying on, it leads to a short more likely?
