Hey everyone I'm new here.. and new to Nissan. Just wanted ask a few questions and opinions about what you drivers think of your cars .. What you do differently, etc
First off ill start by saying i'm looking to build a really nice and really fast second car. This will NOT be my daily driver.

So my questions: Sry if there if im being a noob but ill learn fast just need this answered so i can figure out what to start researching and learning about

What car do most people use to make a lot of power out of out of the 300zx,350z and why?

What hp/tq ratings will motors and trannys hold with stock internal for 300zx 350z ?

Are parts way cheaper for the 300zx compare to the 350z?

I'm looking at about 15k - 18k to get the car and boost it and do repairs if need be. I can always add little things later like rims and body stuff but i want the major engine parts (turbo parts, high mileage repairs, maby top end rebuild depending on shape of car)and car for 15k - 18k.

What kind of turbo kits do you guys like to run on those cars?
Whats better to do twin turbo or single turbo ?

15-18k could get you a native TT with a blown engine (2-6k depending on where you are) and the rest could be spent on a build, 10k build, if you do the work yourself and start off with a decent car you could maybe find 600hp. This is all speculation and could be 25% one way or the other depending on your skills, location, parts availability, etc.

+1 ^ I would say that Antons estimate is pretty close.

OP all these are things that can be found by searching. So start your researching by answering your questions lol. Good luck and if you need some help with something particular feel free to ask.

As of now we will keep this thread right where its at so that Z33 and Z32 drivers can chime in.

A quick couple of words:
Your little Scion will feel like a walk in the park if you buy one of these machines hopefully you have some experience with forced inducted RWD vehicles and don't plan on just dumping tons of money into one and expecting it to drive like a Scion... Also note that I am not trying to be a d!ck, I am trying to let you know the facts. Anytime someone joins and they want others to spoon feed them it worries me for 2 reasons in this order:
1. They ruin a Z.
2. They get hurt or butt hurt.

Twin turbo is very common on the Z32 chassis since the chassis itself is already plumbed for it. The TT 5spd trans can typically hold about ~550whp just depends on how healthy it is and the driver. Naturally at those power levels the stock clutch will need to be swapped out.

Stock internals on a VG30dett can hold 500rwhp easy.

Partwise:
Parts (new OEM, new upgrades ect) are easily obtainable for the Z32 chassis you just need to realize that its not impossible for something to go wrong and for it to leave nothing but lint in your wallet at any given time. Also keep in mind repairs can take time due to the amount of labor that needs to be done for certain things (for example to remove the headlights takes about 1 hour if you have never done it before).

But the good thing about it is you already said it was not going to be your DD.
:bigthumb:

The community: The Z community kicks a**! I mean seriously its not uncommon for other members to scratch your back when your in need for little or no money or even help you turn a wrench or two. (Example, NolimitZ32 needed a maf pigtail a while back I cut one off my parts car and mailed it to him no charge not even for postage)
Naturally you will have to put up with a little bit of stuff before you get all nestled in our community. Just like any community you just have to prove yourself and proving yourself is as easy as buying a Z and making an intro thread then participating in discussions. :bigthumb:

But none the less welcome to NICO we pride ourselves on being a wonderful community and we welcome you to the board :dblthumb:

Enjoy your stay!
