But yeah, they build is the fun part. I am getting older and balder by the day. Moving into another vehicle that handles well on a road coarse is more me now. I actually started my V8 swap in early 2005, took 3 chassis, 2 motors and 3 trans to figure out.
This car is awesome, scary a** fast, but not a autocross or road coarse car, too much torque in too light of a car, the back end just comes loose too much. I would like to move from my younger drag racing days and do some road racing / coarses and a vette, lotus, or an atom would be perfect. ( No miata for me to fat, to tall, too ugly, too afraid of c***-a-doodle-doo)
I think if you got the suspension dialed in professionally and got it corner matched I believe you'll find that it would be an absolute monster on a real road course. Take it down to NJ Motorsports park and spend a day running laps and getting it dialed in correctly and I think you'll find it a formidable road race/auto-x car. If you look at the C5R and C6R, they run and win consistently with a similar power to weight ratio that you have in the S13. You might be a little lighter, but I wouldn't think by much.
You can't judge it's performance with that tiny "track" at Carlisle, nor can you really judge it's handling capability on our roads since they are all pretty much F'd right now. Why not take it up to East Coast Bash or one of the other Clubloose events and see if they'll let you run on the E-town road course.
